The Global Institute for Science, Engineering, and Business Management (GISEB) is delighted to announce the 30 semi-finalists selected for the 2025 National Research Symposium. This landmark event was established to celebrate the innovation, critical thinking, resilience, and excellence among early-career researchers across Nigeria.

Organized exclusively for undergraduate and postgraduate students, the symposium was conceived as a response to the pressing need to create more avenues for young scholars to showcase their research beyond the classroom. Many promising ideas remain confined to academic requirements, with limited platforms for recognition or wider impact. The National Research Symposium addresses this gap by providing an opportunity for students to share their work with experts, gain constructive feedback, and connect with potential mentors and collaborators.

After a highly competitive selection process, these 30 outstanding participants have advanced to the semi-final stage. Their research spans diverse fields of Science, Engineering, and Business & Management, reflecting the symposium’s mission to foster innovation, inclusion, and impact through research.

The semi-final round, beginning on September 27, 2025 3 P.M WAT | 9 A.M U.S Central Time, will be hosted virtually in three parallel Zoom rooms. From this stage, nine finalists will emerge to contest at the Grand Finale. At the final stage, winners will be honored with prestigious awards, including:

  • Overall Best Researcher – ₦500,000
  • Best in Science – ₦300,000
  • Best in Engineering – ₦300,000
  • Best in Business & Management – ₦300,000
  • Best Undergraduate Researcher – ₦250,000
  • Best Female Presenter – ₦250,000
  • People’s Choice Award – ₦250,000

The organizing committee commends every applicant and extends heartfelt congratulations to the semi-finalists:  “We commend all applicants for their passion and dedication. To our semi-finalists, being among the 30 selected is already a remarkable achievement, it testifies to your hard work, commitment, and innovative thinking. We encourage you to prepare with confidence, knowing that your research has already distinguished itself on a national platform. It not only reflects academic merit but also signals the potential to make meaningful contributions to research and society. Remember, reaching this stage makes you all winners.”

Beyond the competition, the symposium offers mentorship, publication pathways, and networking opportunities with academics, policymakers, and industry leaders. It also reflects GISEB’s commitment to nurturing young scholars, expanding inclusion, and building a culture of impactful research.

The 30 semi-finalists, comprising undergraduate and postgraduate students represent the future of scientific inquiry, technological advancement, and socio-economic transformation. Their names, research titles, and categories will be published in recognition of their achievement.
