March 29, 2025, marked a star-studded night at Acqua Supper Club in Toronto, where the Face of AFWT 2025 event showcased some of the brightest emerging talent in the fashion industry. This highly anticipated gathering not only highlighted new faces but also reaffirmed African Fashion Week Toronto’s commitment to celebrating diversity and inclusion within the Canadian fashion scene.
The event’s winners, Samuel Street and Bethann Boyce, now hold the coveted title of The Face of AFWT 2025. Both represent the diverse and dynamic spirit of the African and Caribbean diasporas in Toronto.
Samuel, a rising star, has already gained international exposure, with his modeling career taking him to Paris. In just two years, he’s made a significant impact, working with photographers and brands in Toronto and beyond. Samuel is not only a model but also passionate about giving back to the community, aspiring to build a career in social work while continuing to pursue his passion for fashion.
Bethann, aka “Bee,” is a multi-talented individual whose journey into modeling began in her teens. A dancer, makeup artist, and former dance instructor, Bee’s versatility and creative energy have seen her shine on the runway and in multiple creative fields. Her extensive background, from dancing to makeup artistry, allows her to bring an artistic touch to every project she tackles. Bee’s win as The Face of AFWT marks the next step in her ever-expanding career.

Isaac Ansah, Co-Founder and Head of Operations at African Fashion Week Toronto, described the event as a reflection of Toronto’s growing influence in the global fashion scene. “This event is a platform for talent, mentorship, and real connections,” said Isaac. “We’re thrilled to see Samuel and Bethann rise as new faces, and we look forward to their continued success.”
The Face of AFWT 2025 event not only celebrated emerging models but also emphasized the importance of providing opportunities for underrepresented voices in the fashion industry. AFWT continues to be a platform of inclusion and empowerment, giving emerging talent a stage to showcase their skills and build their careers.
